We left early Monday morning, all crammed into my car, and got to Tybee Island around 10:00. The moment Ollie's feet touched the sand, he was gone... He's been listening to the sound of waves on his sound machine since the day he came home from the hospital so I guess this all felt quite natural to him. He ran straight for the waves, I didn't even have a chance to put on our sunscreen! He played in the surf with his Papa for a few minutes until I felt it was time to get him and the boys sprayed and lotioned up.
Now, a little advice. Spray on sunscreen is AWESOME! But, it only works where it is sprayed! I sprayed the boys from head to toe and, though the breeze made it difficult, they were covered. A little lotion on the face and they were good to go. Spraying myself, however, was not as successful. I thought I was protected but nay, four hours later I learned I had missed some spots. Really large spots. Apparently the wind blew away most of what I thought I was spraying onto my back. Oh well, lesson learned!
Julian really enjoyed playing in the waves. He spent most of the day in the surf with his friends, who we vacationed with. I had fun jumping the waves and trying to body surf with him.
I didn't want to take my fancy grown-up camera to the beach, so this is the best I got. Still, happiness is evident!
Jack, as expected, mostly enjoyed playing in the sand. He collected sea shells and built castles most of the day, but he did play in the surf a little. He wandered off down the beach solo to play in a tidal pool, without telling anyone. I saw him go, but I wasn't happy about his solo venture. We had a talk.
That's just Jack's nature, though. He gets caught up in his own wonder and forgets that there are some safety rules he should be following. Nevertheless, with me and the grandparents and our friends also watching, all the boys were perfectly fine.
It was such a beautiful day. I think Papa enjoyed it most, though. He really loved watching the boys have fun.

We left the beach and went back to the hotel for the rest of the day. All the kids played in the pool for the rest of the evening. I don't see how, they should've collapsed from exhaustion, but they were all good. The boys were so happy to spend the day with their friends. The next day we walked and shopped on the River Walk for a couple of hours and then headed home.

| We were discussing whether or not the bridge was actually tall enough to clear the barge. Depth perception is a hard concept to explain to kids. |
| Ollie got a new pacifier. The boys thought it was hilarious. |
So we had a really great time. I only wish Daddy was there, he would've enjoyed it. Until next time, Savannah. We love you!
