Panola Mountain State Park, #5

Panola Mountain State Park is a beautiful little park not too far from where we live. I took the three boys there and we met our dear friend for a short hike around the two-mile nature trail and a picnic in the park.

This hike was great for little kids with little legs. There were places to sit and rest along the way, and a beautiful overlook toward the top of the "mountain" to enjoy.

Again, Ollie having a blast.

We discovered this reptile on the trail.

The oldest one cheesing next to a boulder, no biggie.

Panola Mountain is a granite outcrop, much like Stone Mountain to the north of Atlanta. We went in the spring and the wildflowers blooming on the rock were just gorgeous. I imagine this rock is beautiful in the fall as well.

Another short but sweet trip. As the kids grow and our lives become (hopefully) more settled, I intend to enjoy longer visits to the state parks. I want to camp, either in our camper or tent, with the whole family and really enjoy all Georgia has to offer us.
