The first real hiking trip. This park boasts the tallest waterfall in Georgia, and it is gorgeous. I visited
Amicalola State Park with my brother on our way to meet our mom in Blue Ridge for a weekend away. It's also sort of the start of the Appalachian Trail and I was really tempted to buy an AT bumper sticker, but felt silly because I only hiked three miles of the 2175 mile long Appalachian Trail. It's on my list, though. One of these days!
We had the two big boys with us, Ollie wasn't born yet. So most of our hike could probably be considered backpacking. It's just our backpacks were actually a three year old and a five year old. You can see here Julian wasn't thrilled about hiking.

We only hiked midway up the fall before turning back to get back on the road. It was beautiful, though, and I want to go back one day for two reasons. 1. To hike to the top and 2. To complete it officially as one of the three parks in the Canyon Climbers Club...so I can get a free shirt. It's kind of a big deal to me.

There were old rusted cars in the woods off the trail, which was really creepy to me but then I thought it must not be a huge deal if they were left there. No "Wrong Turn" scenario anyway, good to know.
