Indian Springs State Park is the oldest state park in Georgia. We've visited a few times now, as it is the second nearest park to where we live. It is located near a lake where visitors can swim or paddleboat. There is a mile long nature trail, playgrounds, campgrounds, and picnic areas. Our favorite thing to do there is to play in the spring itself. The boys love jumping across the rocks and splashing in the cool water.
The first time I visited Indian Springs, it was after taking the boys to High Falls and Daucet Trails...three months pregnant...in July. So I was tired and so were they. We enjoyed some quiet moments at the lake before heading home.
We visited the park again after Oliver was born. He played in the spring too, sort of, if you can count sleeping in his Moby wrap while I played in the spring.

| Watching the bugs and tadpoles in the water. |

So in being one of the two nearest parks to our home, we visit Indian Springs fairly regularly. It is a nice park to meet up with friends and enjoy some fresh air and sunshine. There are playgrounds here as well, and picnic areas and a mini golf course. It is also close to Daucet Trails Nature Center. If you ever find yourself at Indian Springs State Park, make the short trip over to Daucet Trails as well. It is a free attraction that houses many local wildlife species that have been rehabilitated but are not suitable for release. With the park and the nature center so close, this is a perfect day trip getaway for a family with children.
We need to go to some of these places. I hope we slow down enough to be able to soon. I like to hike in the fall.
